Unitrade PV has officially launched a new photovoltaic panel recycling line, marking one of the first installations of its kind in Bulgaria. The facility is part of the company’s long-term strategy to expand its service portfolio in waste management and secondary raw materials recovery.
The system is designed to handle the full treatment cycle of end-of-life photovoltaic modules, including mechanical dismantling, separation of core components, and preparation of recovered materials for industrial reuse. The process covers glass, aluminium, polymer layers, and other composite materials commonly found in PV panels.
A key feature of the line is its high level of automation, enabling precise material separation and minimizing losses during processing. This significantly increases the recovery rate of valuable secondary raw materials compared to conventional recycling approaches.
With an annual capacity of up to 10,000 tonnes, the facility is intended to serve both domestic and industrial partners seeking reliable and sustainable solutions for photovoltaic waste treatment. The investment aligns with evolving European Union requirements for electronic and energy-related waste streams and strengthens the company’s role in advancing circular economy practices.
