Unitrade Metal has expanded its operational infrastructure with a newly developed facility in the South Industrial Zone of Plovdiv, marking one of the company’s key logistics and processing hubs in Bulgaria. The site spans 50 decares and is engineered to streamline the collection, separation, and preparation of secondary raw materials for further recycling and industrial use.
The location was strategically selected due to its direct access to two railway tracks and immediate connectivity to the regional road network, including the Plovdiv ring road. This significantly improves transportation efficiency and reduces turnaround times for inbound and outbound material flows.
The facility is equipped with a wide range of machinery designed for mechanical sorting, pressing, and pre-processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as other recyclable streams. Key processed materials include ferrous and non-ferrous metals, batteries and accumulators, and photovoltaic components.
The average monthly processing capacity is approximately 200–220 tonnes of material, including 60–80 tonnes of aluminium, around 20 tonnes of mixed metals, and approximately 15 tonnes of aluminium radiators. This ensures stable and consistent handling of large material volumes in line with industrial requirements.
This development represents an important milestone in the long-term expansion of our infrastructure. We have created a facility that combines efficient logistics, modern processing technologies, and flexible capacity for handling diverse secondary raw materials. Our goal is to contribute to a more structured and sustainable circular economy.
The commissioning of the Plovdiv facility reinforces Unitrade PV’s role in developing modern recycling infrastructure. By combining scale, logistics, and processing flexibility, the site is well positioned to support growing industrial demand for secondary raw materials across the region.
